Open Arms of Parker UMC-- Our Philosophy!

Article Pic

Small groups are the Open Arms of our congregation embracing you through your participation.  Each small group is different in nature.  Meeting in homes, at church, and in the work place, they focus on Study, fellowship or mission, with a life span from 6 weeks to many, years these small communities become the place where you are known, cared for, challenged, shaped, and equipped for your Christian life.

Small groups are encouraged to embrace in various ways five elements of growth including:

  • Fellowship, Fun, Caring, Sharing
  •  Study,  Faith or Bible Studies,
  •  Worship/Prayer, Devotions, Prayer and Care time
  •   Mission Outreach, or the Work of the Group.
  • Accountability. Holding each other up in Christian Love.
  •  Some groups emphasize Study, while others Fellowship.  Even when one of these essentials is the focus, when these other characteristics are present, people experience wholeness, love and support.
