Welcome to this weekly update of highlighted happenings at Parker UMC. Here are a few ways we invite you to be involved in the ministries of your church. You can read the entire "Happenings at Parker UMC" bulletin insert at our website, www.parkerumc.org
Don’t forget your Parker Task Force Thanksgiving baskets – they’re due at the Parker Task Force (20118 E. Main Street, Unit D) this Sunday. Food can be delivered between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Baptism Class is this Sunday at 12:15 – Please note time change. Class will end at 1:00. Childcare is provided.
November Mission is Project Angel Tree – Help children of prisoner’s know they’re not forgotten at Christmas. Gift tags available this Sunday in the Narthex.
Pre-register for Night In Bethlehem – look for information table in narthex. Also, we need some Easy-Up tents/canopies, as well as cushions/pillows and disposable tablecloths. You can drop off those items in the Fellowship Hall at any time.
Preteen/XYZ Thanksgiving feast is this Friday, Nov. 20th – preteens will serve a fabulous Thanksgiving feast to all the chronologically gifted (and their guests) in our congregation. YOU DO NOT NEED RESERVATIONS TO ATTEND. Just come, and enjoy!
Thanksgiving Taizé Service – save room for this peaceful, contemplative service of candlelight, music, scripture and silence on Wednesday, November 25th at 7:00 p.m. A labyrinth will also be available in the Fellowship Hall all day.
Hanging of the Greens, November 28th – help decorate our church in time for the first Sunday in Advent. We begin at 10:00 and finish – well, soon, if plenty of us show up to help.
Christmas Tea, December 5th – The United Methodist Women invite you to an afternoon of tea (no crumpets, but great finger food), music and crafts beginning at 1:00 p.m. Fancy hats are optional.
Don’t miss Handel’s Messiah on December 6th at 8:00 & 9:30 – you can also join the performance by attending the community choir rehearsals on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 5th at 9:00 a.m.
